2023 Calendar

The 2023 swim season calendar has all the details for the entire season.

Our Pool

Practices are at the Mountain Shadows Neighborhood Pool, 422 Shadow Parkway.

Directions: At the Second Entrance - Mountain Shadows Dr. off Banks Rd. take the 1st right onto Evening Shadows Drive. At the end of the street beyond the stop sign, you'll see the Pool and Clubhouse directly in front of you. Pull into lot, park and enter gate on the right.

First Day of Practice

The 2022 season starts Wednesday, June 1st.  Practice will be Wednesday morning, Thursday afternoon, and Friday morning that week and will continue M/W/F mornings and T/Th afternoons throughout the summer.

Important Practice Information

All swimmers must be able to swim one length of the pool unassisted to be a member of the swim team. Mandatory evaluations will be given to 5/6 year olds on the first day of practice.

All swimmers will be assessed at their first team practice to determine individual strengths and weaknesses and help pinpoint areas that need to be worked on. Some swimmers may be asked to swim up a level for certain events, and they may also practice at that level to build and strengthen their skills. The coaches will make these determinations on an individual basis.

Practice will be cancelled (or moved inside) for thunder, lightening or heavy rain.  Notifications will be sent out to the team via TeamSnap for any schedule changes.

Lifeguards are on duty for all practices.

Attendance

Attendance at every practice is not required, but we encourage team members to come as often as they can. The more swimmers practice, the better and stronger they become. We understand that summer schedules are busy and other activities (camps, jobs, sporting events, etc.) may interfere with swim team practice. That is why we offer both morning and evening practice times to accommodate schedule conflicts.

Practice Expectations

Arrive at least 10 minutes before practice and participate in as many practices and meets as possible.

To arrive on time, to work hard, listen to and respect the authority of the Coach, & limit any distraction from practice sessions.

Come prepared to learn something NEW everyday. (The more the swimmer puts into his practice, the better the swimmer will be at the Swim Meets.)

Parents are always welcome to stay and watch practices. Parents can also leave their swimmers and arrive back at the end of practice. (However, we are not babysitters for children who are not part of the swim program. Please do not leave children for us to safeguard.)

We recommend that parents of children in the 5/6 age group remain at the pool during practice or find another adult to be the "go to" parent if the child needs anything. It is difficult for coaches to stop practice to help one child with a non-swimming related issue causing the other children to have to wait.
